Biological Activated Carbon (BAC)Biological Activated Carbon (BAC) filters are commonly used around the world to remove biodegradable organics (BDOC). These filters (typically used after ozonation) generally have expected bed lives of 10- 20 years for their target contaminants. These filters however are fouled over time depending on the character of the water that feeds them. To best monitor, operate and optimise these filters annual BAC Aging Profiles are recommended. BAC aging profiles are also useful for asset managers who need to budget for media replacement. For more information please request Info Sheet 3. |
